operation.I was really at death's door at the time.Then in 1981 i stood watching

that i wanted to be more than a spectator.I ran in the event the following year
and finished in three hours 11 minutes. " Brian's first marathon outing in fancy
dress won him a special prize of a trip to the london marathon and since then he
has won an array of other prizes for his creativity. "I will try to come up with

said. "I love taking part in the race series and a lot of the runners know me by

me a lot of encouragement. "My health has not been great in recent times, but i
am hopeful of completing the three races in the race series, although these days
i will be mostly walking the events. " Tyrrell was 44 when he took up running
and he is glad that he discovered the sport. "Running has done a lot for me and
it has helped me cope too through periods of illness,"Said brian. "I have made
some great friends through running and i am also delighted that my daughter
louise fagan and her husband, paul have both been attracted to taking up the
same lifestyle pursuit. " Paul and louise joined brian in the st patrick's day
5k through the streets of dublin.Entries for the lifestyle sports adidas irish
runner challenge have now passed the 2, 000 mark and there is a steady stream of
online entries being logged every day. This year, for the first time, late
entries will not be taken on race day.Instead, there will be a special late
entry facility at lifestyle sports, unit 427, blanchardstown fashion retail
park, on wednesday and thursday, july 9 and 10 from noon until 9pm. "We are
encouraging all entrants for the irish runner challenge to enter as soon Formal

director, jim aughney said. "Those who preregister online will have the option
of picking up their race numbers at the lifestyle sports store in blanchardstown
on july 9 and 10. "We will also have a race number pickup at the race hq in
castleknock college from 8am to 9.15am on race morning, but no late entry desk
this year for logistical reasons.Entries are also coming in at a steady rate for
the other two races in the series the frank duffy 10 mile on saturday, august 16
and the dublin halfmarathon on saturday, september 20. Castleknock college will
be the race hq for all three races and this year the goody bags and souvenir
tshirts for all preregistered entrants will be distributed at the finish of all
three events. All events in this year's lifestyle sports adidas race series will
again have accurate chip timing and the events will be organised to the usual
high standards. Preregistered entrants to the irish runner challenge will soon
be receiving their race acceptance information by email as well as detailed
instructions on how to get to castleknock college.
